This is an exciting opportunity for five colleagues to join our expanding team. The Headteacher and Governing Body of Bedford High School seek to appoint a team of effective and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA).

As a team you will support in removing the barriers to learning of vulnerable students to ensure they make relevant progress. We are looking for previous experience of working with or caring for children of a relevant age and experience of working with students with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.  You will need to be able to remain calm and positive in challenging circumstances and be able to relate well to students and adults; working with the wider school community.  Previous experience of working as a HLTA would be desirable.  A full driving licence is required for the post.  Please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification for the full requirements of the role.


Pastoral Guidance Officer (PGO).  Working full time 37 hours per week, permanent, term time plus two weeks, Grade 7 pro rata (£21,786 – £24,792 pa), required for September 2019.

The Headteacher and Governors at Bedford High School seek to appoint an effective and enthusiastic Pastoral Guidance Officer to monitor, support and improve the overall progress and development of our students.  You will be joining a strong, supportive team who manage the pastoral care function within our school.   You will work individually and as part of a great team to improve the behaviour and attendance of some of our students by providing a proactive approach and immediate response to any behaviour issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for the pastoral support of a specified year group of students and will be able to work with external partners.  We want you to actively support the personal welfare of all members of our school community with regard to spiritual, moral, social and cultural values and to promote the ethos of our school. You will be able to remain calm and positive in challenging circumstances and relate well to children and adults.  We offer a positive school culture, opportunities for further professional development and strong support from the Senior Leadership Team.   If you think you have the skills, drive, determination and commitment to be part of our happy, vibrant school we would love to hear from you.
