Bedford High School Open Evening for parents/guardians and children

The time has come when you must make that all-important decision about which secondary school your child will attend in September 2022. In order for you to make an informed choice, you need as much information as possible prior to completing the application form. One of the best ways of gaining information is to visit the school.
Please accept this invitation to Bedford High School’s Open Evening, which this year will be held on Wednesday, 13th October 2021. Please book a tour through our website. I will be giving a welcome presentation in ‘U’ Block School Hall at 6.30 pm and again at 7.30 pm. If you are unable to attend our live Open Evening, a virtual version will shortly be available to view from our website.
The school will be open for you to see the facilities we have on offer, and a guided tour will be available to you. Activities and displays will take place in all areas and you will see the broad range of traditional and new subjects offered to students. It is also a chance to meet with and chat to our staff and students. During my presentation, you will hear about the school and our vision for its future.
We are pleased that following our recent assessment we have again met the IAG Gold ‘Inspiring’ standards for quality of Careers Advice and Guidance. Whilst our track record of exam results speaks for itself, it is important to us that our students have a range of creative experiences and are well prepared for life after school too. I am committed to maintaining ‘the Arts’ in our curriculum. We hold Artsmark Platinum, a standard very few schools achieve. I am proud of the sustained hard work and dedication of our students and their families and our quality staff and governors. Our most recent Ofsted report captures many of the features of our good work.
This summer the school has continued to make substantial investments in the buildings and grounds to improve the facilities for our students and improve the learning environment. Bedford High School is also the centre for the area’s musical instrument tuition.
