On Monday, our entire Year 7 cohort visited Bridgewater Hall in Manchester for a truly inspiring refugee celebration event 🎢🌍

Students enjoyed performances from an ensemble of refugees from around the world, learning about their personal stories through music, song and culture. The event provided a rich and memorable cultural experience, with opportunities to sing in a variety of languages and gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of others 🀝🎀✨

The visit also links closely to the Culture Day activities that students will experience during Aspirations Week, helping to celebrate diversity, broaden cultural awareness and encourage students to learn about different communities and experiences 🌎❀️

As part of their learning around the trip, students also explored a range of careers connected to the music and events industries, including performers, composers, music producers, sound engineers, stage managers and music teachers. They completed career-matching activities, linking job roles to descriptions and discussing the skills and qualities needed for each profession, as well as play as part of an orchestra in class! 🎼🎧🎭

We are incredibly proud of our Year 7 students, who represented Bedford High School exceptionally well throughout the day. Their behaviour, engagement and enthusiasm were outstanding, and they were a credit to the school πŸ‘πŸ«πŸ’™
Well done, Year 7! 🌟#wearebedfordarts
