Bedford High School maintains excellent results at GCSE.
Posted on 4th Jun 2009 7:24pm
Brilliant News once again for Bedford High School as the quantum leap in last year’s results has been mirrored in 2009. The school has maintained its high standards and the combination of hard work in school, mentoring, residentials and unfailing support from teachers has paid off.
74% of all students achieved an A*-C grade in five or more subjects, while 50% of these also a C grade or above in English and Maths.
Mr Preston, Headteacher commented, “We would like to congratulate all students who have achieved good GCSE results today. Our teachers and students have worked together with dedication and the results today are testament to that. The results couldn’t have been achieved without the support of parents, carers and the Governing Body, so we thank them for all their continued support.”
Many Year 11 students also achieved success in English A level as part of the school’s initiative to ‘fast-track’ high achievers.
High achieving student Tess Kennedy said, “I am really excited about my GCSE results - I got 10 A*’s and 4 A’s which is even better than I expected.”
