Year 10 student Lewis
Student Achievement: Year 10 student, Lewis, fished the Inter regonal Talent Pathway 2018 for Team North at Barston Lakes. Team North finished in 1st place. Lewis’s parents said “A Great day with top Anglers. We are very proud”. Congratulations Lewis from all at Bedford High School.
Year 11 students Cavan and Ryan
Played in a football semi-final at the weekend and they managed to win and now play their final in 3 weeks at the Macron Stadium in Bolton.
Careers IAG – Greater Manchester Labour Market Information (Presentation attached with lots of information and statistics)
Jane Wells from the Growth Company delivered Greater Manchester Labour Market Information assemblies this week to year 9, 10 and 11 students. Greater Manchester Priority Sectors – see picture below, with 66% of employers requiring a Level 2 qualification and 83% of employers requiring a Level 4+ qualification.
Chef Visit to Catering Department
On Tuesday, Year 10 catering students had a Fish Master Class with Chef Matt and Chef Craig both from Wigan College Catering Department. Guest of honour was Larry the Lobster!
Business Lunch – Melissa Pearson
19 students attended the business lunch with a Doctor on Wednesday from Wrightington, Wigan & Leigh Trust.
Expressive Arts Activities:
A very lively Musical Theatre Workshop at Leigh College, including singing to Lion King and dancing to Hairspray on Thursday.
3 year 10 students had a unique technical theatre workshop with the lighting and sound directors at The Exchange Theatre.
