The Art department enjoys excellent facilities and works in a wide range of media. Students have the opportunity to work with local artists and visit the wealth of local resources that we have. The Art department nurture business and enterprise skills, designing the school Christmas card, the Enterprise trophy and learning about running a gallery.

KEY STAGE 4
Key Stage 4 topics are chosen carefully to cover time, place and culture coursework. Pupils work on two major topics in year 10 and a further in year 11.
The exam topic is set by the AQA examination board. Pupils produce research and a final 10 hours timed piece of work from February until Easter. Coursework and the examination topic are displayed in a major exhibition shortly after Easter assessment is based on four assessment objectives determined by the examination board.
It is important that work is up to date and thoughtfully and accurately produced. Pupils need to be well organised and for both Key Stages.
Visits are made to art galleries, Museums and other places of interest for research purposes . Artists in residence are invited into school to inspire pupils and to extend their learning.
Pupils will need an A4 file, 2B Pencil,Pencil, Crayons and a Pen.
